Does anyone know if the location for the next Kon has been decided? I suggest Sarasota, Florida. But then again, I'd love to go back to Maine.
...we are in very preliminary thoughts for 2020....give me time to savor this one....
Spidey and I had a brief discussion on having the next one in Seattle (where Rose Red was filmed). The Thornwood Castle has been turned into a bed-and-breakfast. I have gone to their website to check things. Rooms are quite pricey. They do have a 'Rose Red' room. The place is definitely gorgeous. Just throwing it out there for you guys to ponder.

Oh guys, that looks and sounds like it was just fantastic! I'm thrilled for you all! So good to put name with faces. Neesy is so much fun! Thanks for sharing photos and stories! And keep them coming!

Nomik - I too have always called you No-Mick on this side of the board!

Marsha - I do the same thing - it's never a good idea for me to be the one taking the pictures.

It was. I'd asked Gerald if he could bring some copies especially for anyone who was coming from outside the US since the shipping costs almost as much as the book which is why a lot of people haven't ordered it. :(
Well that puts a damper on it. Thanks for letting me know. If I had only known I would have asked Neesy to pick it up for me.
Shoot - wish I had know sooner! I did literally pick that book up, looked at it, then put it back down again.

:culpability:

There's a story here:
They have turned the public works building into an assisted living home. We descended on them Sunday afternoon like paparazzi-locusts, and one of the more drunken residents told us that WE were on PRIVATE PROPERTY, and we should GET THE BLEEP OUT NOW IF WE KNOW WHAT"S BLEEPING GOOD FOR US! It was upsetting, and a staff member calmed him down. At this point, several of our party decided to leave. Neesy, on the other hand, walked up to the gentleman and struck up a dialogue. After a few minutes, we watched agape as she and the man disappeared into the ancient building. I followed, and he led us up through the building's elevator to see the interior water wheel!!! He was very apologetic and sweet. Neesy got a pic with us and the gentleman, so we need to see it.
Yeah - he wasn't such a bad old guy - told us he was from New Joisey (New Jersey). Once I get my camera hooked up to the computer I will post some pics. Most will likely have to be resized.

On the bucket list!

There was speculation about perhaps having one in Florida since fljoe0 , hossenpepper and yourself are in that state.

Just not sure what the theme might be (Duma Key?)

- wouldn't want to impose by trying to go by his house (Big Pink) as Stephen King needs his privacy.

While we were taking pics on Sunday, several other cars of people pulled up and were doing the same thing.

haha that was funny - I had to correct my spelling - I had originally written "go buy his house" :facepalm_smiley::rofl: - that was quite a typo! ka-ching!

Hmmm - Seattle is supposed to be nice! I would love to see the West Coast

Was thinking of you while we were there - misery chastain or perhaps Stacey270 (one of them) got your gift basket - they let me have the Elvis emery board as I had been wanting to file my nails for two days straight!

Neesy can charm the skin off of a snake! :D

Thanks Dan;

Hmm - am I really that weird? :hmm:Hopefully it's a nice kind of weird. Incidentally when I was an assistant leader with the Cub Scouts when Josh was just a young boy, our theme was the Jungle Book. They gave me the name of Kaa (the snake) - true story!

Nah, not weird! I call it quirky and it's much better than being just your average hum-drum type of person, right? Life is much more interesting when a person is quirky (and I include myself in that grouping!).

I'm so glad you thought of me! I was sad about not going. You're not weird! You're my kind of people! I'm always pleased when people think I'm a little weird. Normal is overrated.
