Spiderman Homecoming.
Quite enjoyable. From having seen Spiderman from the '70s (I was a late-comer to Marvel), Tom Holland nails it as the geeky, conflicted, frustrated, and actually young wisecracking Peter Parker of legend, and they tie it in nicely to Tony Stark and Civil War.
We all (grandparents and grandchildren) enjoyed it thoroughly, and the ending credits were a joy, and the Easter egg at the very, very end got us. Joke's on us, Marvel. Nicely played.
If you like the Marvel Universe to any degree, you'll probably like this.
I went to see this with my kids yesterday, and I agree with you for the most part. Some of the 'shout out' scenes stumbled, but Holland had a fresh take on teen Spidey. He was able to pull off 15 years old, but is a strong enough actor to also sell the dramatic scenes. This version had some outstanding shots and absorbing sequences as well (though the fast moving CGI at the beginning was not great). And Keaton was wonderful! It was a fun movie!
