It started snowing in southeast Texas last night and by about 10 pm it had reached us.

When I got up this morning, I looked out the back window and the first thing I saw was...a very annoyed opossum. And snow on the ground, which we didn't expect. Even when snow falls here, it rarely makes it to the ground or sticks when it does.

By the time the sun came up, this was what our house looked like:

The ground was warm, so that snow melted fastest, but it stayed in the trees. It was a winter wonder land for sure.

The irony: we have more snow than my sister has in eastern Canada at the moment.

Very pretty. Unlike yours, though, when it comes she'll have to put up with it for months. I'd be less unhappy about snow if it would just melt within hours. :smile2:

Only a person that does NOT live in Maine and/or New England would start this thread...;;D

(this was during one of last years storms in Bangor)

In Bev's defense, even though he lives in Texas now, he was originally from northeastern Canada so he's put in his snow years. ;-D

Are you all set for this weekend/next week? If the forecasters are right, looks like we may have a very white Christmas.

I'm having snow tires put on today
However, I do love a white Christmas so I'm torn on the subject ;-D
Good luck! There's probably going to be a run on all the tire stores by people getting their snow tires. I was at SAM's at 7 AM on Tuesday and it took about 1-1/2 hours. When I was leaving the guy at the counter told me I was lucky I got in when I did as it was already up to a 4 hour wait. :icon_eek:

Marsha's Taxi Service? I tip well! :applause:
I'm glad you were able to get them when you did! My father is installing mine, he keeps them stored and changes them out for me every Dec. I have a rear wheel drive car so they don't really help a whole lot but it's better than nothing. I don't drive the 'ole girl into work on really bad snow days. At some point I will have to break down and get a winter car but I will be stubborn for a few more years!

Lucky you! I did at least get some xmas shopping done while I was waiting so it wasn't a total waste of time having to stay there. Four hours, though, would have been way too much especially over there. Mine is front wheel drive only but my next car may have all wheel drive unless I'm finally spending my winters in AZ.
