See if you can wrap one of those foam insulation tubes over the pipe. Our pipes burst one winter and those foam thingys work great.

I installed the foam thingy a few years ago, but apparently a squirrel decided some of it would be good to line his nest with, leaving a small but vulnerable section exposed, unbeknownst to me.

...I imagine heat tape would also be a good investment, albeit a very inexpensive one, in case the weather continues to astound and amaze.....
