When you're seriously blue and/or homesick, what are your comfort foods? Mine are banana pancakes, tomato soup with a peanut butter sandwich, cinnamon toast, chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk and the ever popular mac and cheese. I'd start a poll but I haven't learned how to do that yet. Never mind...see below. Duh.

Sorry. This didn't start out as a poll. It was an afterthought. This should be in another forum, right? Survey says? Moderator can move it? :shame_pig:

I voted for "Other". A hot bacon sandwich... and a cold beer. :biggrin2:

Besides Mac and Cheese, homemade Chicken Noodle Soup with a bunch of veges (make it anytime I feel cold or flu coming on).

...pizza and cookies...pizza flavored cookies, cookies on a pizza...cookies the size of pizzas....

Soup - and bacon. I'll always order the soup no matter where I go. And for total comfort: tomato soup and a grilled cheese - always makes me feel as cozy and happy as a 9 year old - I even keep Judy Blume books around for total escapism.

    DiO'Bolic Not completely obtuse

My mother grew up poor in Ireland and every meal was made in a pot over the fireplace; no stove, and electricity was only allowed to be used for lighting. My comfort food has always been Pot Roast. Thankfully though my mother made it for us with beef rather than the tough mutton she had to endure growing up.

When my uncle came over to live with us from Ireland as a young child, his comfort food in the US was mashed potatoes on pizza.

My family loves homemade chicken pot pie, chocolate chip cookies, and beef stew. ( I can always tell if my oldest daughter is feeling under the weather or tired, she asks for the chicken pot pie) I use the pioneer woman's recipe and everyone loves it!!
