Lot of great moments there on MASH, one of my favorites of his was when he was trying to be a magician in a dream sequence to save the life of an injured Soldier, and he kept going back into his bag of tricks but it wasn't working and he was sweating as he tried and tried to save the soldier's life..

....M*A*S*H was one of the best TV shows of all time, and the ensemble never seemed to fragment or drop off in talent and laughs when new characters were introduced....he was an impressive performer, in front of or behind the camera.....rest ye well Doctor.............

That Alan Alda eulogy gets to the heart of it.

I remember being in the Brown Palace in Denver on a job while one of the "Perry Mason" TV movies was filming. It was apparently some type of social scene for the show. I was on a floor up above, looking down. Raymond Burr and David Ogden Stiers were practicing their moves and making sure they hit their marks (tape on the floor). I remember thinking, wow, there's more to this than I knew.

He always struck me as a consummate professional and very decent human being.

This is one of my favorites as well. It was haunting! Really got to the fears of each of the main characters.

I was really sad to hear about his passing. I loved M*A*S*H.

I liked Winchester much more than Burns... because after a while Burns seemed like a character that was there just so Hawkeye and Trapper could have something to laugh at. Winchester started off a bit cold and certainly had his moments as an ass (like when he got addicted to amphetamines and fed some to Radar's pet mouse), but gradually grew his own legs and you couldn't help but like him.

One of my favorite Winchester moments was when he tried to connect with the soldier that had a stutter and stand up for him. Then at the end of the episode you found out that Winchester felt so passionately about it because his sister had a stutter as well.

Really one of my favorite characters from the show.

R.I.P. Mr. Stiers.
