Okay, I have no book in the works as such. But who knows, that all might change some day.
Yeah, I actually once came up with an idea for a truly disturbing science fiction novel. It came me one day when I was driving with my father. (I hope by sharing here, I am not relinquishing my copyright on it. But I already shared it elsewhere. So what the heck.)
I live in Michigan. And I saw this license plate with the letters "ELU". What could that be the name for, I wondered? Then the story idea came to me:
And I'd love to make money on my idea too. And hey, if Mr. King wants to collaborate, I would be open to that too. But it is fun to just share it with other people too. What do you all think of my idea? As I said, AFAIK, I am the first to come up with it. (And don't be fooled. If someone else seems to come up with the idea, they are just copying off me .)

It is the not-too-distant future. And everyone is having virtual sex. That is when this company comes up with this virtual persona and sex partner. Elu. (I later thought "Elu" could stand for "electronic love union" or something like that. But the word Elu came first, realize.)
Elu is the perfect love partner. The only problem is, he/she is TOO perfect. People want him/her to be real. The first man, an obvious lunatic, goes the place where Elu originated, in an insane attempt to find him, and he dies tragically as a result. But as the novel wears on, some people find more and more ingenious attempts to make him real, including cloning and whatnot. I forget how the story ends. But basically, it ends on the note that someone perhaps IS successful in bring him/her to life. Or is he? And the novel ends on that note.
I have shared this story with other people on the internet. And at least one person said they didn't like the name Elu. I like it. But FWIW, they said Eli (for "Electronic Love Intelligence") would be better. I don't know. I still like Elu. It is so unique, if nothing else, after all.
