He is almost 12 and probably reads on an 8th grade level. We just don't want him reading anything with any sexual content, etc. His grandmother has suggested Carrie, Cujo and It. I am not sure any of those are appropriate for his age-based on content. THANKS SO MUCH!Welcome to the Board!
How old is your step-son and more importantly, what is his maturity and reading level? What's good for one child at a certain age might not be for another.

You can't go wrong with this one - I read it as an adult and enjoyed it too!

I also agree that "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" would be age appropriate as well as being a very good read
What about it?What about blockade billy?

Okay - you are right! If the child is a big fan of baseball, this one would definitely be appropriate!

Even though it's about baseball, if I remember correctly,I was thinking it may be a good book for her son to read. Yes it is about baseball. It is really small. I am thinking it's in the bizzare of bad dreams?

Might not be so great for a 12-year-old.it's a pretty bloody story with graphic violence and mayhem.
