Hi all. I have a 6 piece set of these little wooden figurines. I have no idea what they are. They are all about 2 inches tall. And they all have the little wooden stick that fits in the base. The top of the stick is split just a bit, I tried to take a pic of that, too.

The only idea I have had is maybe place card holders? But that just now occurred to me as a possibility. I have searched and searched for similar pictures and have come up with nothing.

Anyone know what they are? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

These make me think of Elizabeth Eastlake's figurines from Duma Key. Weren't hers Oriental? Where did you find them?

They are cute! When I saw the small pic of the first one I thought it was similar to something my ex brought back when he went to China (he was a flight steward) - sort of a souvenir piece.

Now that I look closer I see they are Japanese.

You could always take them to the Antiques Roadshow if it ever comes to your area!

It seems they are place card holders.

I have looked at them for months, searched for pictures...but just today as I was getting ready to take the pics to post here, noticed the little slit in the sticks and their corresponding places on the base of each figure and thought place card holders. Ali did a search and boom, there they were! ;-D

Thank you all!!

Cat, GNT...yeah, place card holders sound like a better guess. Now you see why Antiques Roadshow fired me. :apthy::victorious:
