Two silly things drive me crazy. Couples (make that media) combining names like Brangelina, Bennifer, RPatz..well, you get the idea. Now the latest thing in commercials is giving everything acronyms. Light Bladder Leakage is now LBL, Rheumatoid Arthritis is RA. I think I'm just not a fan of lazy language.

That guy who drives for about three miles with his turning signal on but doesn't turn. You can't tell me you don't hear that clicking sound! It's just about one of the most annoying sounds on the planet. Either turn or don't, but if you don't turn than turn it off!
actually that happened to me while in heavy traffic and stressed to the max. Trying to talk on ear phone and drive-and suddenly hollar out "what IS that noise?!?" only to realize it is my own turn signal.
That was back around hurricane Charlie days and I was putting in 700 miles a day,7 days a week. it was hectic

Another pet peeve... when somebody uses the three dots of death... (elipses)... as their only punctuation... in a post or an email... and even in some written works I've seen... it drives me NUTS... I can't read whatever it is... even if it's from someone I dearly love... like a relative... I hate it.
Oh well... can't win 'em all. upload_2013-11-25_10-2-25.jpeg (Sorry, I've tried to break myself of the habit, but it's just my voice.)

Like, I so get what you're saying! Who'd they think they are? Céline?

I guess Thanksgiving and Hanukkah fall on the same day this year...so I've been hearing Thanksgivukkah. There's probably a game that could be made out of that notion.

Ive got a pet peeve that raises it's ugly head during National weather reports for some reason. It's the use of the term, "Deep South." I'm not sure why it's used at all anymore since it originated after the civil war and is more a political term than a location. It was originally coined to refer to areas that were politically most Southern (whatever the hell that means). Florida and Texas are not included in this term but you will hear Tennessee get thrown in. For some reason on weather reports, the news people love to say things like, "there are ice storms in the Deep South." Why can't they just say South or Southeast? Nobody ever says it's snowing in the "bible belt" or the "rust belt." As mobile as everyone is anymore, these kind of terms are really obsolete. Why we are using Civil War terms on the weather reports really puzzles me and annoys the hell out of me. Whenever I hear someone say "Deep South" on a weather report, it's a lot like fingernails on a blackboard.

I wonder where the expression "pet peeve" came from? Who was the original pet peevert? Was it a male or female or some combination thereof? A French king maybe? An honest plumber from Sheboygan? Perturbed about plastics? I had a pet peeve the other day but I forgot it now...I think it had to do w/driving...had this guy...or gal...coming at me in my lane the other day. But it wasn't that...that doesn't happen that often. Could have been people who insist on driving everywhere w/their brights at night. Or I know what it was...there was this once I'm headed out of the bush, coming down a two-track hill, bounce onto the asphalt, dark-thirty...head out on Nightingale Drive, full dark no stars, headlights coming toward me...and...they wait till we're almost bumper-to-bumper and they flash their brights in my face. GAAAAAAAAA! Have had variations of this happen numerous times...other drivers who think I've my brights on...has happened w/each truck I've owned. Lights are higher than a cars so it appears the brights are on. I'd gotten to the point where I ride with my hand on the bright switch...you get the flash from the other vehicle, the courtesy flash...brights a quick second...and I return the courtesy, flash them my actual brights so they can see I had my dims on. Whew! Glad to get that off my chest. Maybe I'll sleep better tomorrow...or today I meant. I'll sleep better today. :)
