Thank you for taking your time to be a good foster dad to a lost guy.

Next time you visit Jake and play scrabble, use the word "Oxygen." (if you get the reference I'm going for, you really are a badass.)

Was it in The Watchers? That's where I remember the Scrabble dog from. It's been a very long time since I read that book, so the details are a little fuzzy.

Last night, the owner of the stray dog (Jake - my name for him ;-D) found him. He came to my house after one of the neighbors told him I'd been walking the dog around asking if anyone recognized him. Jake's dad does live in my neighborhood but we seemed to be searching in different parts of the neighborhood and our searches didn't intersect. Jake's dad had called Animal Control Services to see if the dog had been picked up. I reported the dog to The Humane Society and apparently, Animal Control must not check the Humane Society's found dog records because they were not aware that I had a report in. I'm going to call The Humane Society today to tell them I found the dog's owner and I will mention this little glitch. Maybe they can fix that. I think both of them should have access to the same records. Animal Control takes the dogs it picks up to The Humane Society so it doesn't seem it should be too difficult to merge the phone logs.

Anyway, the dog is in good hands and has a very nice home. I can probably go over and play Scrabble with him anytime I want. ;-D

It's tough to have to give up a furry friend but I'm glad that Jake's family found him. Be on the lookout because he may go traveling again and return to your place as you were kind to him and fed him. Labs will go wherever they know they can get a free meal!

Naw, bad ass card revoked. hahaha!

It was Roseanne. Mark, the stupid one, got Oxygen on some really great spot on the board that was giving him all these points and he was going to win the game over David, Becky and Darlene. They ended up talking him out of the word saying it wasn't even in the dictionary and he ended up playing the word, it.

Of course, you may have never watched one episode of Roseanne and in that case, you can still earn your badass card on some future post.

while supplies last.

What a heartwarming (and -breaking) story, thankfully there are still many thoughtful people in the world. :distant:

Also, since I recently introduced myself, I thought I might as well introduce my cats! Meet Toosje and Toupetje:

This is Toupetje, she turned 8 three weeks ago. She's pretty much the queen of the house (as you can see), she's terribly sophisticated, she hates bad manners and rowdy behaviour. So do I, so I can't blame her. However, when you are eating (with good manners), she WILL judge you.

This is her sister Toosje, she also turned 8 three weeks ago. She's not as uptight as her sister, but she will steal anything from under your nose to throw it into her waterbowl... Especially napkins. She also loves weird poses, as you can see.
