This is really cute. Owen does not sound at all like his dad. I do hear a bit of joe in him. Not shure if he sounds more like tabby. I will have to go and find an intervew of hers.

I love the aging parent. I really hope the media will actually give Owen a chance to shine, and not be like Stephen blah blah blah, because that whould suck.. I really hope it's not a repeat of tabby.

Stephen does not get paid for appearances for book tours, other than indirectly through royalties for book sales which would happen regardless of whether he was doing an event or not.

Moderator can you ask a question of Owen/Stephen if the Brian K Vaughn comic series "Y: The Last Man" had any influence on this story idea? I immediately thought of it when I read the description here and have been meaning to ask.

Have heard back from both that it wasn't really an influence although they are both aware of the comic series. Here is Steve's more detailed response:

"Nope, no influence, although I read that series and liked it. I think that’s the one where all the MEN are gone."

Right, the opposite approach. Thought maybe it was a brainworm of "what if the opposite happened?"

Anyway thank Sai King and Owen for the response and looking forward to this one.

How was everyone's day today? Mine was good. I got a paperback copy of the shining. So know I can read that one and go streight to doctor sleep. It is not the hardcover first edition, but oh well.

I received my hardcover copy a couple of days ago. It is a brick! Team lift this one, folks...avoid wrist injury! It's only 702 pages, but it feels bigger.

I work at Amazon and we had a whole pallet of Sleeping Beauties today, I had to fight the urge to run off to the bathroom with a copy to get a head start. I told a co-worker "Hey we got the new Stephen King book!" and he asked "It?".

When he did his book tour for EoW, I saw him in Charleston, WV and he told us there he had a new book coming that was based in West Virginia. Thought that was pretty cool factoid.
