...the Purple Rain Cocktail.....
- Pre-chill vodka in freezer. (Recommended: Pre-chill all ingredients instead of using too much ice; which can dilute the drink).
- Pre-chill large/9 ounce wine glass in freezer.
- Add about 4-6 ice cubes into the wine glass.
- Add vodka, raspberry liqueur, blue curacao, lime cordial, and cranberry cocktail.
- Stir or shake gently and serve.
That was him. Always said what you didn't expect.

....I agree with everything but the "James Earl Jones' voice"....no and hell no!.....his is one of the rare singular voices to have lived in speech, not song.....Two things:

The side-eyes you mentioned
Eye rolls. Short, quippy responses that shut people down immediately. One of my favorites came after someone went into a long rant about how terrible he was (I think it was in a magazine article, but I can't remember for sure) and Prince's only response was, "I hope she know her clothes don't match." I think she meant the depth of Prince's voice. A lot of people were surprised to hear Prince's speaking voice, because he sang in falsetto and used the paper part of his range so often.
...possibly, but I will stand by the protest-even though Prince's speaking voice belied that screeching, transcendent falsetto.....
I can't remember who was asking about this song, but I just saw this video pop up on YT.

Just got home from work. I see that his remains have been cremated and that there was a private ceremony for family and friends. If there is a public ceremony at some point I am seriously thinking of attending it. It kind of makes me happy to see that word is getting out about just how generous Prince has been in his life with his time, his words of wisdom to other artists and with his money. Now the world will know just how much of himself he gave and gave and gave. Now we will know of all of the concerts he did and then turned around a gave the proceeds to charities. A few years ago his drummer's daughter passed away and Prince canceled shows that were scheduled so that the drummer's family could be together. He didn't replace the drummer for the next few shows, he canceled them, even knowing that it would disappoint his fans. That's love. We will come to find out much more about how generous Prince was in the months to come. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.
