The day The Outsider was released, I went to B&N to buy a copy. The sales lady I've spoken to about books a few times, told me that it had been selling well. Told her how happy I was to hear it. She started talking to me about a book she recently finished and asked me if I liked historical fiction. I asked her if she'd read 11/22/63 and she told me someone else had recommended it to her as well.

She's always been very helpful and friendly and that's very rare these days. I kept thinking about our conversation. The next day I went back and they had one copy of 11/22/63 on the shelf. A different clerk rang up the sale, but I asked if the other lady was working. She was paged to the front and I asked her if she remembered me and our exchange about 11/22/63 from the previous day. I handed her the bag and said "Happy Reading." She stood there dumbfounded and told me that in over 25 years of working at B&N that no one had ever done anything like that before. I told her that gifting SK books is one of the greatest joys of my life. She asked if she could hug me and then said, "Wow, you really are a fan." =D

I have a client who came in on a Friday while I was off work, took a handful of my business cards and gave them to all her friends. I had no clue until I mentioned to our manager that Claudia had sent me a bunch of new clients. She said "yes, Claudia really likes you" and explained about her asking for my cards.
So far, I've gained 10 new color clients last month. I'm both honored and humbled to know that someone appreciates my work so much.

Wow! Those are the clients that make it all worth it. Maybe a free cut or discount for her next visit would be a nice thank you? :)

Quality work does not go unnoticed. You have always gone t beyond the extra to make sure colors are correct.

Beautiful thread! One thing I will never forget is when I ordered a CD from our local record store a couple of years ago. I expected it to arrive after the weekend, which would have been fine, but only one day later, there it was in my mailbox. It came with a note saying "I was in the neighbourhood, so I thought I'd just drop it off, enjoy your CD!", and a €2 coin, because I paid €2 for shipping. I'm not a regular customer or anything, they don't know me, so it really was special. It was so heartwarming to receive this, I was happier with the note than with the CD, haha! :love_heart:
