I’m pretty sure I saw someone else post something about it in the website thread, but the “insufficient privileges” message thing is really off-putting to new members who have not yet realized the board closes for weekends

Yeah, this is a good point. As a relatively new member, the time difference and board closings stopped me really getting into a flow on the site but it is nice to see how welcoming the long time members are to new people. A lot more civilized than other forums.

Life and the changing world which has made life more complex for many. Free time often spent on the SKMB is now spent with jobs, further education, challenges.
There was a time when the SKMB was open only from 8:30 to 4 Monday through Friday; a time of total moderation for all. Yet the SKMB grew in members. The world moved one. The time of "immediate"/ "now" is upon us. Patience has been set aside. People drift to that life-style.
Remember when one had to sit down with paper and pen and write( yes, actually write) a letter. Mail it - wait for delivery and a response.
Remember when people sitting at a table, or walking side by side actually spoke to each other face to face, not via text.
The world moved on........ instant gratification.
No matter what- this place, given so freely, is still the safest and most unique form of "social media" available.

And we used this

Are you trying to tell me I'm full of hot air? :)

I’m actually quite knowledgeable on leaf blowers. I sell them at my part-time job.

But I live in the country, with woods behind me. What the riding mower doesn’t chop up is left for nature to handle, so I don’t really have a need for a leaf blower. Regardless, I still own 2 leaf blowers, on electric and one battery. One can never have enough power tools. I use them to clean off the decks and when the wife asks me to sweep out the garage. I figure I could spend a half hour sweeping or 2 minutes using the battery mega-blaster blower. The blower always wins, but I have to always go around picking up all the papers that fly around. :)

Right now my lawn is filled with corn husks because the farmer across the street just harvested his crops. I figure they will blow away eventually.

I was actually trying to get you strangled without having to do it myself. ;;D :applause:
