Unfortunately, not one I can re-gift. :p

I agree completely about staying active and honestly have never understood how anyone could just sit around once they've retired but I've always had hobbies so that work was not my life. I'm going to be plenty busy as I've made some rather major changes already. When I was in AZ in October, I put my house in the Tucson area up for sale and bought a condo in Scottsdale to replace it. My tickets are already bought to be there from Jan. 12th until February 9th (yes, finally got permission to work from AZ as part of my retirement negotiations!) and in my time off will be starting over again to get it furnished as I'm selling the other one complete with furniture and furnishings. Very much looking forward to getting out of Maine at least for most of January and part of February.
New beginnings. Trust me, after I retired my days no longer had enough hours in them to accomplished all desires. Take it slow at first, adjust and enjoy the warm the and sun of AZ. We'll keep you busy 3 days a week!!

Good for you. I always knew you’d win in that negotiation. All us guys eventually cave when the thought of losing an important woman in our lives becomes a reality. :encouragement:

That's what my mother has been telling me for years! I'll still be working my regular east coast hours which will be nice as I'll be done by 2 PM and have lots of time left in the day to enjoy exploring the area.

Holy cannoli! I just checked out their website and menu. No way this New England Yankee would pay their prices for seafood I could get at home at 1/3 or less the cost for the entrees.
I think it would cost a pretty penny to get good fresh seafood to somewhere so far away from the North Atlantic. If you like good fresh seafood you might have to work till 2021. ;):)

I see they fly in their fresh seafood, first class. :)

And they serve only Maine lobsters. :) I might eat lobster a couple times a year even when I'm in Maine so don't think I'd miss it that much for the short amount of time I'll be there. I'd rather be going out to get good Mexican food instead.

:facepalm_smiley: In all the years I've been going to AZ, I have not seen anyone in chaps and have yet to see a woman wearing a cowgirl hat but even that aside, that would be a hard no.
Ahhh... so it will be socks and flip flops, then? :)

Not even flip flops without the socks. Can't stand having that strap between my toes.
Attitudes change with old age. ;) The wife said the very same thing to me for about 15 years. Then one year as a gag gift I got her a pair of flip flops. Since then she wears them from March to November and probably has a half-dozen pair. Work into it... Start with the socks and go full toe-commando one night after a few drinks. Before you know it you’ll be wearing large floral print dusters and babushkas. ;):)

(you know you're gonna miss me once you retire :))

I'll take your word on it but think I'll stick to my slip on sandals. The day I wear a large floral print duster and a babushka will be the day my kids decide I've lost it and put me in a nursing home! :)

In the immortal words of OoO, who(m)? ;)

You should seriously think about looking into living here in lovely North Carolina...

Atlantic Ocean to your right (reasonable seafood prices), AppleAtChin Mountains to your left, Piedmont (where I am) great weather, hardly ever snows...

Wait...

Never mind.
