They're staring out the window at the rat that has moved in the flower bed from the cornfield. The animal agency made us sign a legal statement when we rescued the cats that they were not allowed to go outside... or suffer public shaming, imprisonment or even death. :)
Guess you have a new "pet" or free entertainment for the cats.

Yesterday I noticed two small black birds trying to build nests inside my porch roof. Over the winter a board of the tongue and groove ceiling had come loose, and apparently the opening was just what the birds were looking for. I watched them fly out, and duct taped the board back into place so they couldn't get back in until I took my daughter to school...... Or so I thought.
When I came back, those birds had removed the tape and were back inside, nesting away. I watched them fly away again, but this time, I used a wood screw to fasten the board back into place.
They were back this morning, but couldn't get back inside. Now, I have one very pissed off bird "singing" to all his friends about the mean old lady who closed up his house......if y'all don't hear from me again, you'll know why.
