I had to laugh when I heard the location as I used to go there when I was in junior high and high school. It was within walking distance of where I lived. At that time, though, it wasn't the gentrified location it now is. My memories were of the Saturday matinees with kids throwing popcorn and shooting spitballs with their soda straws.

How many of you had a waterbed at some point in your life? I had one. I liked it but like the article states, it could be a major pain in the butt when you had to move it. Plus putting sheets on them was almost a workout. :)

I had one, too, but wasn't unhappy about getting rid of it. It was always in the back of my mind that the thing was going to spring a leak and flood the bedroom and then through the floor/ceiling to the first floor.

I liked sleeping on mine but there wer a lot of cons involved to owning one. I was always scared of puncturing mine too. I heard a few horror stories about that.

Eons ago. Had to make sure the manufactured home would support water weight. Sleeping on it was ok, issue was daughter had cats! Saying no more.

I had one. What sort of freaked me out about them was when I dismantled it and the wood frame almost looked scorched from the heated bag.

The thought that I could've burst into flames in the middle of the night, before the bag melted putting the fire out and drowning me instead.

Ever try to sleep on it without the heater on? You could freeze to death even in the summer. :)

I had one too! Got to the point it hurt my back to sleep on it though. I kept the frame and headboard for the longest time after I got rid of the water mattress. Just put the box spring and mattress right in it. I had a very tall bed for a while! :D
