I was supposed to be starting online college classes today but that didn't work out. This is why I'm reading so many SK novels now. All the classes I wanted were full so I withdrew from my program. I don't even know why they admitted me. Oh maybe I do know. They just wanted my money. Thank God I never paid them a deposit. I know it's a real school because I've been to the physical building several times and some of my friends attended college there. I will just have to find another program somewhere else.

Sorry this happened to you.
Good luck with the search.

Okay here is a legitimate 'random thought':

Here's what CBC is doing to prevent people from posting obnoxious or hateful comments:

"To encourage thoughtful and respectful conversations, first and last names will appear with each submission to CBC/Radio-Canada's online communities (except in children and youth-oriented communities). Pseudonyms will no longer be permitted."

I suppose people could still hide behind a false profile but this seems like a good way for people to take responsibility for their comments.

"By submitting a comment, you accept that CBC has the right to reproduce and publish that comment in whole or in part, in any manner CBC chooses. Please note that CBC does not endorse the opinions expressed in comments. Comments on this story are moderated according to our Submission Guidelines. Comments are welcome while open. We reserve the right to close comments at any time."

I just found this when looking up whether Hurricane Dorian might cause damage in Atlantic Canada

I read CBC a lot. I've never posted because you have to give them your e-mail address. Now that they want your first and last name I'm not going to post even more than before. If I had an anonymous login, boy oh boy, I'd tell them a thing or two!!!

Not judging here. Just an observation and maybe some input from you guys?????

Here recently at the DMV while waiting, there was a young couple sitting on the benches across from me. The girl was all over this guy. Not just casual affection. I'm NOT talking about casual affection. This was like ALL OVER HIM. Kissing his arm, kissing his shoulder, kissing his face, stroking his face, touching his leg, rubbing his back, holding his hand. Now, he seemed to be enjoying the attention. And she was a very attractive girl giving him that.

I'm all for happy couples who genuinely love each other, but this, to me, went beyond that. It was to the point of creepy. And really seriously one of those GET A ROOM situations that people joke about. I just wanted to smack her and tell her, leave him the f**k alone!!!! He's not a dog.

Men -- do you do this with your partner? do you like this kind of public attention?

Women-- same question.

Me? I'd be like, Quit pawing me you needy bastard!

But, I'm not a needy girl. I don't have to be up someone's behind 24/7. I like my alone time. Leave me alone. Go find a friggin' hobby and do it. I've got Columbo's to watch, quilts to make, books to read, carbs and sugars to attend to.

I'm a fun girl!!!!

Another question:

When you go out to eat, do you sit across from your partner or next to them? I watched a couple crowd into a booth on the same side yesterday. No room whatsoever for both of them. No guests showed up to sit across from them. They were elbowing each other the whole time they ate. It was ridiculous. Why they couldn't have allowed themselves a minute of not being next to each other so they could eat a meal without ninja moves. I'm sorry, I just don't get it.

I'm not going to get lost or leave you if I sit across from you to have a great meal. WHere I can actually look you straight in the face and have a conversation.

Thoughts?

It's okay. Whatever side you fall on is fabulous. THis is a safe space.
I'm all for public displays of affection, as long as there is no overt sex involved. What I don't like are the PDA's where one or both are looking around to see who is watching them. That's not affection, that's acting.

I went to dinner with the wife at a fish place a few weeks ago and she pointed out one older couple sitting together side by side in a 4 person booth. Halfway through our meal, while discussing various things I noticed we both said "Pardon me?", "What?","Could you repeat that?", a lot. I then slid in beside her and - BOOM - all hearing issues were resolved. I wonder if that's why they were doing it? We get into fights more now, because when I'm being sarcastic, she can't see my smirk.

hmmm, that's another way to look at that booth situation. I get that.

No, this was a young couple -- but who knows? Perhaps there was a hearing issue there too. I will look at that different now.

I agree with mal that anything overtly sexual is unacceptable and inappropriate, but don't crucify the naturally affectionate people who are doing no harm and don't intend to.
Not everyone is cold and 'I don't like to be touched' types like a lot of people I know. Even in my own family.
So damn glad I'm like my grandad and my sun is too.

....well Deej....short and sweet here....whole lotta nope on the PDA at the BMV or any other acronym......the gropeathon needs to be taken elsewhere, like the nearest reality TV show....as far as restaurant seating, if it's just Tracy and I we sit across from one another....but if there's a group-I sit to her right because she's a lefty....and regardless of how we're setting-I still talk to people at other tables and loudly declare when I need to perform a bodily function.....
