Don't you just love it when one of the kids comes up an asks a question,
and you answer it. Thoroughly and succinctly.
And the next thing that comes out of the kids mouth is : "But why?"
You explain further....patiently.
And AGAIN you get: "But why?"
This goes on until finally you just have to say :"Because I said so dammit!"
And STILL you get another: "But Why???"
I don't miss those days lol. ;)

btw!
I hope you're feeling better now Miss M. :)

I’m still the “why” kid so it never stops!

I’ll never forget the look on SwiftMom’s face the first time I said “because I said so” is not an answer. I think I was about 8 or so.

....but why?......
I'm assuming you mean why am I not 100%, not why thanks for asking. :) Apparently it's a virus going around that involves a lot of post nasal drip and I'm too stubborn to get some Flonase to dry it up as I don't like having stuff sprayed up my nose. Benadryl works but knocks me on my keister so have been avoiding that. My SIL, from whom I caught this crud, said he finally went to the doctor (who is the one who said it was "going around") and got a prescription nasal spray and said he's feeling better now. I will most likely give in and at least try the Flonase to see if it will finally get rid of the PND as this is week 3 and I'm pretty tired of it.

....just riffing on the whole, earlier "but why" bantering that had gone on-yet my RN side was curious.....below, I dumped in a few OTC things to try, that shouldn't make you sleepy or involve shoving anything up yer beezer......I've noticed that this particular legion of viruses is a lot more persistent, hopefully one of the tablets will get you some relief.....

  • chlorpheniramine, as in Chlor-Trimeton
  • loratadine, as in Claritin or Alavert
  • fexofenadine (Allegra)
  • cetirizine (Zyrtec)
  • levocetirizine (Xyzal)

I'd forgotten the "but why" post but now that makes a lot more sense. :)
