I ordered myself a new mattress from Wayfair. The old one was much older that the recommended 8 years, and was sagging. When the new one arrived, I wrangled the old one off the bed, down the front steps, and left it on the curb. I then called Public Works to come take it off (they do that here if you live in town).
The lady said she would put it on the list, and it might be a couple of days before they pick it up.
During the night, someone came and took the mattress. I don't care that they took it, but I do wonder why someone would want a worn out mattress that has been left for the garbage pick up. Then I wonder if they're so bad off that maybe they couldn't do any better for themselves.......now, I'm just hoping they got it before it rained on it.

...it's amazing what people will hoist from the "curb store".....we had a bunch of rolls of pet pee stained carpet years ago that we had tossed to the corner and a fella stopped and picked it up....he was happy with it "cuz I'm just gonna put it in the back of the vehicle I haul my dogs in"....

I'm guessing it was some evil scientist collecting DNA, that took the matress, in order to clone a legion of evil Sunnys' to weak havoc upon the civilized world. Like one is not enough! Oh, the humanity. :)

On the one hand, It sounds really cool to have a whole bunch of "me" running around!!.......on the other hand, I'm not sure the world can handle more than just the one :biggrin2:

I stumbled across some archived MTV broadcasts from 1982 on YouTube the other day. You know, from when MTV actually played music videos. And from a wide variety of genres. I know the reason for the genre spanning videos was due to the fact that MTV pretty much had to play whatever was sent to them because there just weren't that many artists making videos at first. Still, it was pretty incredible.

At one time, MTV, along with the infamous radio station WBCN in Boston, was where I discovered most new music. We also had V66, which was a local version of MTV. V66 is where I first heard / saw 'Til Tuesday and the Del Fuegos (both from the Boston area). MTV is where I was first exposed to Duran Duran, Stray Cats, Squeeze, Beastie Boys, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Ice T, Guns n Roses, Jane's Addition, Living Colour, Nirvana, Soundgarden, The Toadies and oh so many more :listening_headphones:
120 Minutes and Headbangers Ball were must watches for me back then. I miss those days

"In my day, we had artists that could actually play and sing without autotune! We didn't have to resort to streaming where the sound quality is minimal and the artist quality is less than zero!!" he shouted in his vintage SwiftDog growl.

My brother did independent artistic work for MTV in their early days. His team came up with this concept that some people might remember…

I found something dangerous this week. IMovie on my Iphone. Oh my lordy!

You can make a movie of your own, or you can do a trailer using a template they have. They have a horror template so I made a trailer called Old Ladies Bite. My son laughed so hard over it.

Then I did a bollywood themed trailer, that was fun.

Then, the two little boys I watch and I made a super hero movie trailer. So cute. If you have an iphone, it's a lot of fun to play with, especially if you have kids. And if you have kids who are creative and will participate, you could do some kick ass trailers and movies to send to family and friends to give them a smile.
