There is not just a single dialect for each state but several different sounds and speeds. The other day I found this video which matches the regional dialect that I grew up hearing the closest. It is slow but not drawn out and has a musicality without the usual exaggerations one finds on television. How do people in your town speak?

Got relatives with this accent. Did someone here mention or did I read this somewhere else? We are in danger of losing these dialects because people aren't as isolated as they once were and it's being diluted. You think this is true?
