A television producer of several well-known reality TV shows approached us about doing a TV series. We discussed it with them out of curiosity, but we are going to be turning it down. The loss of control over how we are presented, the time commitment, the disruption to our life and loss of privacy, and the effect on our children were all factors in our decision.
Sure, it could open up the channel to a whole new audience and it would be great publicity, but it's just not worth all the negatives. We're more open to doing a one-off type of news show (like an episode of 60 Minutes for example), but a reality series is a lot more commitment and not just something we want to do with our lives. Still, I thought this was interesting so I wanted to share it with the SKMB!
