Disturbed on Conan last night doing Sound Of Silence. Great performance.
Hi Tery, I saw Rush in '75 or '76 in my hometown of 5,000. This was when they were just starting out. Wicked show, although I was probably too young to appreciate the technical musical qualities they possessed. I have listened to their stuff over the years with a much better appreciation. All great things must come to an end sadly. Although they were all great musicians it was Neil Peart's drumming that mesmerized me the most. mal*sigh* KNew it was coming but I'm still bummed. Good deal I saw the final tour 4 times.

Howdy Swiftdog2.0', 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' was my fist Springsteen 8-track. It is truly a classic. malI respect the heck out of Bruce. Marathon shows for 30+ years with no opening act. His stuff through Born In The USA is top notch. My personal fave is the Darkness On The Edge Of Town album.
I would SW, but I don't have a turn table. Where do you get a stylus for one anyway?
Led Zeppelin admit to being awesome (and i agree ) :

hahahahhahaha!I don't remember what I said yesterday, let alone a year ago! LOL
Pulling forward Swiftdog's original post of this. There is more discussion on this back in this thread in 2015, Dio. I think they ripped it off. Pegasus and Swiftdog took a different view, I think. I didn't read back what we all said so they can come speak to this themselves.
Good Lord- these songs are 40 years old, right? Isn't it a little late to sue????Robert Plant and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin are facing a copyright lawsuit after a judge ruled on Friday that the suit can go before a jury regarding the question of whether the opening riff for Stairway to Heaven was pilfered from the band Spirit.
The suit claims Page may have drawn inspiration for the smash hit after hearing Spirit perform their song at three U.S. festival performances at which both bands appeared prior to the release of Led Zeppelin’s track.
I was a fan of Spirit back in the day and still have a couple of their albums. My favorite Spirit tunes are ‘I Got a Line on You,’ ‘Animal Zoo,’ ‘Nature’s Way,’ and ‘The 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus - Prelude; Nothing To Hide.’
They're 'timeless.'Good Lord- these songs are 40 years old, right? Isn't it a little late to sue????

Perhaps, or maybe a son’s efforts to get some credit for his dead father. And it’s not the first time for Led Zep. Just ask Jake Holmes... He had to go to court, also, to get the credit due.Not if you're looking to try and cash in on royalties from the song. This is just a cash grab scheme for the family of the guy from Spirit.
