B decided to go ahead and put it up so I have plenty of time to get it looking perfect. You know - unbend all the branches and get it looking all fluffy and stuff. That should take me a couple of weeks. :eagerness:
Once we get all the sci-fi ornaments on it, I'll post a pic.

We had one of these when I was a kid and it had this light disc thing that sat off to the side aimed at the tree and the disk turned to different colors that shines on the tree.

oh my gosh, I found it. This thing.

OMG we had one of those too. But my brother and I destroyed it ruff-housing on Christmas morning. Dad was soooo pissed.

That is perfect for sci-fi ornaments :encouragement::thumbs_up:

My first thought when I saw the picture was "Did it come from outer space?" (after I read "Our tree arrived!")

Do you guys use real Christmas trees or plastic ones?
I almost always have a real tree cut down from a local farm but, as I'll be recovering from surgery this year, I think we are going to buy an artificial tree that I can put up before I go under the knife. It's a major bummer but I won't be in any condition to care for a tree, clean up needles, etc. so it is fake or nuthin'.

Fake ones shed too (but you can at least vacuum it up) - sending good vibes that your surgery goes well!

At my part time job I cut the end off the trees with a chainsaw so they can absorb water, then wrap the trees. I tell people the little end I cut off is good luck and they should keep it (I don't want to walk them over to the garbage can). People are so gullible. :)

I’ve had artificial trees since the mid 70’s. The year my father made me climb up a 30-foot pine tree to cut the top off... and nearly killed myself in the process was the last real Christmas tree for me.

:rofl::rofl:

First year in Fl and woodland from city life, cut down one of the "smaller" pine tree on the land. Ended up topping it, then had the horse pull it to the house. Been artificial ever since.

Missing anyone?? Anyone else??

So, for folks that are unfamiliar, here's how it works. Last week of November, I will randomly assign each person who has signed up a name to be your "giftee". You, as the "gifter", should take some time to stalk your giftee. Search posts that they have created and threads that they have contributed to for likes, needs, wishes, etc. Joke posts they made can be fun, too! Get a list together, then go shopping. No price limit, as these are virtual gifts. The week of 12/17-12/21 will be for gift delivery. Wrap each gift in a spoiler, so they can be unwrapped! Any questions, please let me know!! Hope you decide to join our fun!!!
