At the NY event, I literally seen people getting their signed book walking out door, sitting it on the sidewalk to take a picture and it was up on ebay before everyone had even left the building and gotten their books!! Evidence of this can be seen with a quick ebay search and the photo that pops up with the signed copy sitting on sidewalk. Now, I honestly do not care if people sell their books, they paid for ticket and attended so its theirs to do as they want. I have also sold extra copies of signed books I have gotten as well, kinda nice when it pays for your trip and time off. But if I had only gotten one that would be on my shelf, I have to have at least one signed copy for myself. I just find it funny that people cant even wait to get home or in the car, gotta get that thing on ebay as fast as they can. lol.

I agree, they paid for it, if they wanna sell it...their business, I`m really not mad at them.
Yes, the ticket, the time off, travel costs...dunno, the economy is hard, people do whatever they can do make some extra money.

Me personally, I would never sell anything out of my SK collection, never mind signed books and the limited editions from CD, I wouldn`t even sell any of the first editions.
Except for a medical emergency, that would be the only thing that would make me consider selling.
I`m not a wealthy man, not even middle class, and if I were to die tomorrow, my book collection is the only thing of value I would leave to my daughter as inheritance. I got no cash to leave her, not even a house, so...whatever I have is simply not for sale, it`s for her and I`m gonna give it to her all on her 18th birthday and if she needs to sell then, for college or whatever, if I can`t provide the funds in another way...so be it.
But until then...no selling ever, only invest in more books.
Here`s to hoping I`ll score one in Toronto, but it`s a slim chance, big event, lots of people and I`m going alone, so...chances are not great, but like Andy said: " Hope is a good thing and a good thing never dies. " :)

It was SO good, you guys. Owen is delightful and Stephen had me all choked up when he talked about Tabby. Just good people. <3

That's exactly how I felt. These are really good people. I know my husband and I could be friends with them. Very down to earth, funny, and kind. Stephen and his family are the kind of people that give me faith in this troubled world.

Only 1 more day! any talk of his next book? Did he mention the "outsiders" or upcoming projects in the Q&A session?

At the Brooklyn event, it went so fast. He didn't have time to talk about any of his other works in any detail. I could have lapped it all up for another 4 hours--the audience was so quiet you could hear a pin drop (except for when they made us laugh!).

Your post is so sweet and loving of your daughter. Your book collection sounds amazing--it will be worth a lot of money but you know what's worth more (and believe me, I know this from experience) is having a dad that truly loves you and thinks of how he can help you. I would have given anything for a father like you. Some things are worth far more than money, my friend. Your daughter is lucky.

Sleeping Beauties gave me an idea. I could market and sell Ladies Sleeping Beauty Cocoons.

'Stay restful and avoid unwanted advances.'

And I could include pepper spray with every purchase.

I wonder if I need to get permission from Stephen and Owen? :p

I met Mary Higgens Clark the same year I met King 25 years ago in St Louis, I talked to her for an hour (no one showed up for her book signing but me. :( She was such a joy to talk too. I met her again last month and said "Do you remember me?" She was sooo Cute and said she think she does! She is over 90 and still cranks a book or two a year! Here is hoping King does the same!!!

Re read CUJO and it still hold up! Great Book!

We attended the Newton tour stop on Thurs. And it was so much fun! We met up with some other SK fans before so we made some new friends.EVERYONE in our group got at least one signed book between each couple so that was pretty great! I actually thought SK looked great!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED how tickets and books were handled at this venue! It should be the standard for all of them! You needed to be checked off their list and your plus one had to be with you and the books were behind a desk in boxes and as you walked out you were handed a book.So all the people who like to "look" for signed books or bully the people handing them out into doing so were SOL-it was great!

Safe travel for the tour group as they travel. Looks to be some "winter-like"( rain and snow!) weather in their path as they head to Missoula, MT.
Safe travels to our Ka-Tet as they also travel to the event.
One more day until Missoula!!! I did see that they are predicting maybe some light snow flurries here in Spokane so I don't know what it's going to do on the drive over there. We're leaving early in the morning tomorrow so we'll have time to do some sight seeing and book shopping and eating and....you get the point. ;-D I cannot wait to meet Marsha and Tina!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
