I beg your pardon for my rant. I get passionate about some things and I have to learn to breath and let it go. Again, I apologize.
Back to OP.
I have a friend (I do.) who is educated and intelligent. We have been friends for two decades and talked and discussed many things. She happened to mention a belief she and friends have had for years. A conspiracy theory I had heard twenty years ago and I thought had been investigated, disproved and laid to rest. Yet, here it is 2014 and she still believes it and warns family and friends. I Snopes'd it and sent her a link.
Refused to believe it. She said all sites have people who lean one way or the other and they aren't going to reveal the *truth* if it goes against what they believe. And even if they wanted to reveal the truth the government would shut it down and people would disappear!
So, basically- don't ruin my conspiracy theory with facts. Ha!

Sadly, I encounter that a lot, Sig. I was just listening to NPR and they were doing a story about this show on climate change that's going to be on Showtime. Journalists decided to enlist the help of celebrities because they didn't know else how to get people to listen about climate change.
It's really sad that our society is more willing to listen to celebrities than scientists!!

We all know that Snopes is funded by George Sorros and everything, and I mean everything, must cross his desk for approval before it's posted...
IMO Snopes is for stupid people who can’t recognize satire and obvious misinformation.
