Hmm, somehow I missed this thread back in March. Read it all this morning. I now have so many annoying songs going through my head that they are starting to sound good. I need to go lie down!

This country music stuff has me rolling 
I loved country music back in the day but anymore it's annoying and is pop in disguise. Pop music doesn't turn into country music just because the singer is wearing a cowboy hat with the price tag still hanging off the side.
There are a handful of new country songs I really, really like but most of it is nothing to write home about. (Or is that "nuthin' to write ma and pa about?")

All I hear in the evening are insects singing, very relaxing. The only problem is we have a group of really nocturnal birds who like to start chattering and screaming at about midnight. Then I think of this:
Is that the one Harold Ramis was using to teach English as a second language in the movie "Stripes"? That scene always cracked me up. As the teacher, he says "I met her on a Monday and my heart stood still", the rest of the class trying to learn English respond with "Da do ron ron ron da doo ron ron"! What a hoot!I like the Police but they have one song that annoys me (and the title is similar to the Beatles song above):

....current "Country" music, is for the large part a hybrid of Country and Pop.....very few artists are doing anything resembling C & W....there ARE some acts out there that are keeping the sound alive, but aren't mainstream....This country music stuff has me rolling

I don't know. That phrase conjures up images of the basement pawn shop scene from Pulp Fiction for me......You forget where I live.....I can arrange the recording of that!
