Cool article about how Stranger Things got started. Mr. King is mentioned several times.

It's great, I think you'll really like it!A friend of mine just lent me the first season on dvd so I will be binge watching this show. I have so far managed to avoid any topics/discussion about it so I am going in with no pre-conceived notions as to what it is about (I know the basic thing about it being a group of kids like in IT) and that there are strange things going on in the town.
so season 2. still great, but weaker.
things i could have done without: eleven and her journey of self discovery. not the self discovery part, the journey. she wasn't even part of the main plot until the end. and that 7th episode . . .wth duffers. set up an epic battle scene at the lab with the dozens of monsters, then oh, let's go on a little tour of the country with eleven for an entire episode that was almost like a poor mans xmen, and just completely destroy the pacing.
new girl. not a terrible character by any means, but why is it we needed her? eleven should have been in the thick of it, rather than "some random girl" as steve so aptly referred to her. and don't even get me started on her total dbag brother. max's family problems just had nothing to do with anything that was going on and were totally out of place in the storyline.
but everything else was amazing, per usual. that kid noah (will) has got some chops. the army of demogorgons was a nice way to one up last season
Hmm. Different strokes, I guess. I thought this season was funnier, quicker in pace, and there were more emotional moments, too, which reminded me why I care for these characters so much. I loved it. I completely agree with you about the disjointed Eleven backstory. I wanted to fast forward to the next episode. Hey, at first I thought Max may secretly be a gifted girl like Eleven (it would have been in interesting plot twist) but I am happy with how things evolved for her. I never understood her brother's motivation. Did you? What was his deal?

I never really got to understand why her step-brother was such a jerk, other than his father was a jerk. Don't know why they had to have him take it out on Max. I like her character and hope she can develop a friendship with El.
I really enjoyed the ending when there was a lot of happiness at the dance. It was nice to see them all relatively happy then the upside down gloom to come. Felt sad for Steve though. I love how his character has developed and hope he stays part of the gang.
You guys are going to love both seasons. It's a fun, heartfelt show full of '80s nostalgia and plenty of King references.Well, last night my Amazon fire stick arrived! I promptly signed up for NetFlix and watched Season 1: Episode 1 with my daughter! We're hooked!! Can't wait to while away hours getting caught up!
We're so excited!! We both have plenty of folks talking about it and we've tried hard to avoid spoilers. The first few minutes we were just sitting there with big grins on our faces, because we were finally!! watching it!!You guys are going to love both seasons. It was a fun season and it had everything a fan could dream of. Better than the abomination which was season eight of Game of Thrones.Binged season 3 in two days. It was amazing as always . I was glad they put it back to eight episodes. Erica totally stood out. It was great they made her character more fleshed out.
