Bah humbug! Two days of cleaning up the house and food prep work, then 20-30 family members and friends come to consume massive amounts of food and drink, clean us out of every available food container loading up on leftovers to hold them over for the weekend, trash the place, and then followed by an entire day of cleanup. We’ll be lucky if we’re left with enough turkey and ham for a single sandwich. And the thought of having any filling left to enjoy another day is a pipe dream.

Why do we keep hosting Thanksgiving dinners? Guilt! The wife and I are consumed by guilt because if we didn’t host a family and friends Thanksgiving dinner there would be none because nobody else is stupid enough to take it on... and our mothers would be looking down at us from heaven with utter disdain and blame!

I used to do Thanksgiving here, but it's just too much of a pain for in laws that only see it as practice for Christmas. One the one hand I can't really blame them as it only means something to me. On the other hand, it doesn't cost them anything and would it hurt to make an effort. So we'll do somethimg for just the three of us..

Make you own "family" tradition for your Thanksgiving . It means something to you and yours, so enjoy.
