Oh, one of those Nailed It pics is just what I'm afraid it's going to look like! I am still toying with the idea of the fondant to make the indentations to make it look more like a mug. But it is blech icky tasting. I am going to use some for the handle.

Going to try just using the handle of my cake frosting knife, and press lightly into the frosting to make little indents. If I don't like it, I'll just smooth it back out. I mean, there are plain, smooth glass beer mugs too! ;) ;-D

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Brandon. :) It will be a fun weekend, but yep, I am going to need sleep by Sunday night. :upside:
Would a wood skewer (the kind you use for kebabs) work to make the indents? It's round and thin; not sure if the length would be right to do it in one shot but think it could get moved and still work.

That is a good idea! I was thinking either the handle to make this kind of mug

or a piece of string to do the lines all the way up like the cake pic I posted before. But a skewer would work too! Probably better, would be more defined without looking so sharp, like a piece of string would make. Thanks!

Good morning!

Busy busy day ahead. Need to run errands and get groceries. Make a trip to Walmart for some cake supplies, somehow I got roped into making Brandon's birthday cake for his barbeque this weekend. This is what I'm shooting for...
beer-shaped-birthday-cakes-12941-300x239.jpg

but I bet it won't look this good. ;-D Not using fondant because no one I know thinks it tastes good. So will just have to really smooth the frosting.

Have to be back by noon. Want to bake cakes tomorrow and freeze them overnight then decorate on Friday morning. BBQ is Sat, and my mom is coming up for the weekend. Going to be pretty busy the whole rest of the week! Babysitting every day too, but only Sage until Friday, then I'll have both littles.

Hope everyone has a great day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:
You will do just fine, Cat. Your cake designs are so cute. Just have fun, that's what it's all about.

I watched a Netflix show this weekend with Stephen Fry. It was a book release talk he was giving that apparently a number of countries were tuned into on the big screen in theaters to watch. I found this concept interesting and I would pay to watch Stephen King live in my local theater during one of his book tours. Can't be there in person, be there with live stream on a big theater screen --awesome sauce.

Anyway, Stephen Fry took the time to acknowledge each country that was represented and watching this live feed and one of the countries was Germany.

He discussed this word:

Oberaftenturbotittengeil.

Apparently it means:

over ape, turbo tits horny

And apparently this word is very popular with the young people in Germany and it is very hip to say. Is this true? Are you familiar with the word and the fact that it is some pop culture thing in Germany?

Just pulling this forward so Niro or Osnafrank will hopefully see it.

Having a bad evening and night. Got the kind of toothache that makes you abandon every thought of sleep. It has abated now so i'm thinking about giving sleep a new try but i must get up in 3,5 hours so it wont be much. It is half past three in the night here. Tomorrow will be tough....
Get thee to a dentist Toot Sweet :oh::ill:

You need to get that taken care of ASAP - healing vibes Kurben

I'll try using it in a conversation with osnafrank - as long as he does not end up with the opinion that I am a dirty old lady!

Good luck, Cat! I'm sure you'll do it justice! Have you thought about modeling chocolate for the handle instead of fondant? I agree about the taste. Yick! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hope you're feeling better today - toothaches hurt worse when you lie down - you can feel them throb in time with your pulse. I hate a toothache.

You'll have to post pics! I bed that will be super cool. To me - the suds look like lil marshmallows. I'd use a draw pull as the handle and laugh if someone tried to eat it.

Anduan Pirate Princess She's a nutjob, that dog. Part black lab, part boxer - babyish like a lab, spastic like a boxer. She's afraid of the sizzle of cooking noises and she stares out the windows all day at the squirrels. Yet she's clueless there's a cat living in the house right now. She's a mouth breather. I have not heard this Word for many many Years.

It is used by Kids mostly and is a the increased mode from Awesome.
Kids use it, if Something/Someone is Sensational.
It arose in the early 90ies at Schools and almost every Pupil knews that Word.
I'v never heard that Word from an Adult

It isnt a real or usual Word.

Hey, Holly-girl! Yes, we went to the beach! It was great, but a working trip getting our house ready/cleaned for rental season, but in the evenings we sat in the hammocks and just totally relaxed! So wonderful. Here's a sunset pic.

We had a big scary storm on Sunday afternoon. Lots of lightning, winds blowing the rain at 60mph in various directions, etc. Only lost power for 30 seconds or so.

Enjoy having the family around. Laughing about the cat! ;-D

That is gorgeous!! We had big storms here too. Big big.

Happy Hump Day!

This morning I was inspired with a new idea for a Stephen King novel called "The Dark Shower." It's what happens when your significant other was too lazy to replace the dead bathroom light bulb the night before, and you have to get ready for work first the next day. :baffle:
Brilliant!!

Had to go to the dentist today. Apparently the tooth was "extremely bad" (his own words). The cavity was big and the nerve inflamed and the whole tooth fragile so he couldn't pull it this day. He said to get it out they have to separate into two halves first. So he made something that will keep it calm a few days and gave me a new time for when the toothpulling will occur. Hopefully i can sleep now but dentists always make me think of how Dustin Hoffman suffered in a dentists chair.... (good movie) And this movie too of course...

Chocolate would be great, except Brandon said, "No chocolate." ;-D He doesn't know what the cake is going to look like, but knows I'm making it. That was his only contribution to the question of what kind of cake he wanted. :biggrin2:
