Today is my day off after working five days in a row - might as well make the best of it - planning some shopping as well as just made a batch of cookies - sugar cookies with grated orange peel and coconut - they're not too bad. Crispy on the outside and tender inside;

Going to my son's work to pick up him and his girlfriend. Will invite them back to the house so she can meet Andy.

This new one is 29 years old, which is a bit safer than going out with a 17 year old :courage:

Slept in until almost 11 a.m. so now I have to play catch-up, since he gets off work in about 45 minutes!

Sundrop, I'm so sorry and will be sending thoughts and prayers for your puppy. Yes, those emergency clinics are convenient but SOOO expensive. That's where I just took Miss Alex for her pancreatitis, and first thing suggested was x-ray, then ultrasound, and care while they waited a few hours for the ultrasound tech while I went back to work...$720 later, and I am praying that she gets over it and they don't need to do that wonderful "exploratory surgery," because, ughhh. At least with the last two, their diagnoses were ultimately going to lead them to pass away, so even if we did everything medically possible for them, it wouldn't have done any good. It stinks when they don't know and can't give you a good answer. I also stinks when they make you choose between the almighty dollar and your furry friend's medical care.

Well, when it rains, it pours. We might be facing a big move down south, and we are life-long New Englanders. My husband just had an interview down in Tallahassee, and has every reason to believe it went extremely well. He's waiting on an offer letter now. Yikes! I've always dreamed about moving to a warm place with no snow, and the southern states have called to me all my life for some reason. But I can't wrap my head around moving that FAR, and with a houseful of stuff! He'll be home tomorrow night, and there will be lots to talk about. It's not even official, yet I'm still on pins and needles. One second I'm really excited, and the next I'm totally overwhelmed.

Florida sounds wonderful, Eileen! Moving everything is overwhelming, but since you say the south has been calling, just give in and go with it. Hope everything works out for you and your family!
