It is with great sadness and shock that I post a message I received from Becks19 this morning. .

It may be a while before I am back on the board. My husband was killed in a crash on late Sun early Mon. Please pray for our family. I will talk to you soon. Rebecca

Please hold her, her daughters, and family in thoughts and prayers.

Just time for a quick post before retiring for the night - got home just after 11 p.m. to discover Mr. Raccoon had figured out how to get the lid off the bird feeder (again) and had dumped all the seeds and peanuts out on the ground.

I had moved the bird feeder to a tree and put it up higher, thinking that would stop him.

So now I have to put my bird feeder away in the garage until the raccoon finally gives up on finding any new food. I am hoping he'll move on to someone else's yard.

If he continues to hang around perhaps I will have to call Animal Control. The only problem is that since raccoons are nocturnal, I can't see a city employee being paid to come out after sunset to try and capture a wild animal.

The last thing I need is finding out that somehow he has figured out how to get into my attic and has taken up residence!

They usually just set traps. Catch them in those then take them somewhere with fewer people.

For now, can you take the bird feeder inside each night, replace in the morning.

How awful. The heart is shocked, then breaks. We are all so sorry, inexpressibly so. Nothing we say can really bring comfort. I just hope she knows that we help with extending our genuine and sympathetic feelings as we can, and whatever we can do in reality, we will.

What a terrible time for the family. I will admit to being personally too distant here. Is there any place we can send something? Best wishes? Condolences? Something more tangible?

I want to thank you and everyone else for their kindness. I feel like I am living a nightmare and it helps to know that you are all here. Many thanks Rebecca.
