So I guess I'm just really out of touch as far as TV shows go. Binge watched the first season of True Detective with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. This may be the single best performance I've ever seen from both actors, but especially McConaughey. The dialogue and chemistry between both of them was really great to watch and it was one helluva plot set against the beautiful Louisiana scenery. I guess this show flew under my radar but wish I'd have seen it a lot sooner. What caught my interest in it is that they're filming season three here in my home town area, which I didn't know about until last week. Whoever is doing the show has taken over two old factories up the road about a mile from my house and there's something like 50 18-wheeler type trucks parked out in the parking lots of each factory. They're filming around the Devil's Den State Park area which is a really isolated park with a network of caves about 20 miles from my house and they're also filming some scenes about 1 mile south of my house at an old abandoned storage unit facility. Pretty cool, couple of the cops I used to work with are doing security for the sites they're filming at. I'm attempting to watch season 2 of the show, but sad to say, so far, it's nowhere close to being as good as the first season.

Good Monday morning (yes it is still morning) - almost noon here but I took the time to click a quick photo of my most recent attempt at bread making:

New type of bread.jpg Oatmeal sesame bread.jpg

I posted one pic as a thumbnail and I tried to resize it

It's pretty good toasted, with butter. There is a swirl in it, as I put a bit of melted butter, sprinkled it with cinnamon and sugar and rolled it, jelly roll style, in a log before putting it in the loaf pan for the final rise.

It's a new recipe using 2/3 cup of oatmeal and 1/3 cup of toasted sesame seeds.

The whole loaf.jpg

At least this new recipe has some fibre in it from the oats and seeds, rather than just plain old white bread (which tastes very good but is not all that good for you).

Oh yeah, and even though one picture shows it sitting on top of a box of Quaker Instant Oatmeal [which I did just to rise it up higher to make picture taking easier], I used the quick cooking oats, not the instant ones.
