This is my plan for the weekend. Hopefully. Sleep has been hard to come by with this cold. Between feeling icky and the storm coming this weekend, I just want to burro into bed and not move.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Stay safe from the various weather systems all over. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

After I got to taste this in a really nicely mixed margarita I thought, hmmmm, I could start drinking.
I still haven't been able to find it around here. We stopped by Sam's Club last weekend to buy some tequila for the wedding, apparently we're having a lot of margaritas on tap, but they didn't have any Sparkle Donkey..I was disappointed. They also carded Tamara for the sale, which I found hilarious....lol, I think she was a bit flattered...lol

I’m pretty devastated right now. I have been working in a preschool as a sub all year, and they tried to take me on full time. I’ve been bringing Alex there and we’ve been going for the past two weeks. They got my background check back and I failed. For those of you who don’t know, I used to have a pretty bad drug problem. I also had to plead guilty for resisting arrest, but that was a felony that should have been turned into a misdemeanor....I completed all of the probation and jail time. CPS was involved, and I had 3 children removed. I finally got my stuff together, and after years of inpatient, outpatient, meetings, counseling, and getting my head out of my arse, I earned my eldest back from foster care. I’ve since had little Alex and no issues. This was almost ten years in my past. I went to 6 years of college for teaching: 4 for my BA and two separate grad programs. I’ve been out of the (high school) classroom since 2008. This was my first venture back into the field. 160k in student loans and all that Education and passion wasted because of my past mistakes: this just sucks. I guess it’s back to online ESL and maybe getting my butt back in gear to write. (I had ordered baby chic eggs and and incubator for the little preschoolers and I won’t even be able to teach the unit and watch their little faces when the chics hatch:()
Thanks for letting me unload all of that. Love you guys.

Nomik, this is so unfair, I'm sorry. One would think after ten years of clean living and getting a BA that it would be more than sufficient evidence that you'd be a reliable, dedicated employee. Don't give up. I hope you don't completely lose your passion.

That sucks Nomik. Have you ever looked into having all of that sealed legally? We used to process seal orders all the time at the police department and for arrest sheets far more serious than what you described ma'am.

I have to go to the post office and pick up my copy of the certified letter containing the report; I don’t even know what caused me to fail. It’s either the resisting charge or the CPS history. I’ve spoken to an attorney in Phoenix (where my past took place), and she said that Arizona doesn’t expunge, but I can go through a “satisfaction of charge” appeal. The more likely scenario is that my CPS history is the problem, and that is more complicated to undo, especially in AZ, a state known for having a horribly unsympathetic CPS system. I’m a rehabilitated and functional person, a living parent, and a good teacher. Unfortunately, it might not be good enough to fix my past on paper.

You're definitely correct that some states are much more rigid and unforgiving as far as sealing a legal records.
