Ok, its saturday and i slept late, which was nice. I washed the laundry which wasn't. I started a seek for my phone and sunglasses which was successful. I hung up some pics on the wall (a thing i made in preschool years and that my father, for reasons unknown, loved called The Vulture. Not very good but he said the smile it had always made him smile ). Now its going to adorn my walls. He even framed it with glass and everything. A little memento of him. I have found just the spot.

Feel like a big idiot at the moment. Looked through my phone to see what hadhappened during its absence. Found a caller whose number i didn't recognice so i called it. Turned out to be a work collegue and it was 4 am here. A very sleepy voice answered and i realised my mistake. Embarrassing to wake up her in the middle of the night. She is a kind soul so after being certain i was allright we said goodnight. I apologized and i guess i have to do it again on monday.....

I got the impression that she thought i might have had an epileptic attack and was calling for help. Thats why shewanted to make certain i was "Allright" i think. How allright in the head any person that calls another at 4 am without a good reason is another question....

I put up another pic today! A reproduction of Grant Woods American Gothic, a painting i always liked. It is something in their stares...... It hangs in my kitchen now so they can look at me when i eat or cook. Now at least i have somebody to blame for my failures in the kitchen!

I grew up in a (how to say "white trash" politely...) "culturally impoverished" home, so my first exposure to American Gothic was as a quick parody in the opening theme of the TV show Green Acres. I was genuinely surprised to find out it was not only a thing, but a big important thing.

To this day, I can't see it or think about it without singing the song in my head.

It is parodied in the opening of Rocky Horror Picture Show too, just after the wedding in the beginning.

Today was a weird day - I meant to get out and buy some new jeans for my son plus do a few other things but all I managed to get done was to water my plants on my deck and throw some torn up hot dog buns out on the back lawn for the squirrels, rabbits and birds

It was very hot today and we were hoping for rain.

Speaking of hoping for rain I hope that those in BC affected by the wildfires are doing okay
