That's great! I hope you had a fabulous time....What I wear to Rocky Horror these days. Plus the cape I made by hand 34 years ago, of course.
A couple of young people made an old lady very happy tonight. But since it was their first time seeing it, I thin they're too scarred to take me again next year. So I made the most of it.
Come to think of it... that might be what scarred them.
I'm the Wolfman.
Last night, I had the second interview with the owner of the salon I really liked. I still love the place. The owner is really young, but she's smart and she is organized and knows how to manage a business.
We sat down and talked about everything.....she told me that she had talked extensively with one of the stylists there who knows me, and she would love to have me there. She thinks I will be very happy working there. My booth can be ready by the first week in December.
Biggest major concern.....the rent is on the pricey side at $150 per week.
Major Pros.....there is significant opportunity for growth and gaining new clients, and she's willing to let me start out on commission if I'm not comfortable with the rent right away, she's extremely understanding of my situation with needing scheduling flexibility, and having my daughter there after school on later work nights is not a problem.......and major plus.....there is zero drama in this salon. When issues come up, the people involved sit down and talk about it like adults and solve the problem together. I've talked to two of the stylists who work there, and they both tell me the same thing.....zero drama. It has to be a great place, because no one ever seems to leave the salon to seek employment elsewhere.
I told her that I need some time to think about it, and crunch the numbers around in my head. She asked me to take a week or so, and to please call her with any other questions or concerns that I might come up with. She also encouraged me to contact any of the stylists and ask them anything.
So now, the sleepless nights begin......I have a huge decision to make. I'm leaning toward making the move.
The name of the salon is Changes.....I'm thinking that a change just might do me good.
