As much as I immediately empathized with certain characters, I just as quickly disliked Craig Toomy (even though I felt sorry for him because of his childhood. :( ).
Yeah, rotten childhood but still.... Isn't a slight overrepresentation of dislikeable businessmen, at least at a high level, in Kings work? What do you think?

Hi there!
Andy and I were out and I asked how he would feel about me coming here to discuss this book tonight. He prefers if I spend some time with him tonight - sitting by the fireplace and talking.

He is only here until beginning of February and then it is back up North to Baker Lake Nunavut until the summer.

I will make a comment, however. In the intro on page xv and xvi of Four Past Midnight Mr. King says this:

"Because a great many readers seem curious about where stories come from, or wonder if they fit into a wider scheme the writer may be pursuing, I have prefaced each of these with a little note about how it came to be written. You may be amused by these notes, but you needn't read them if you don't want to; this is not a school assignment, thank God, and there will be no pop quiz later".

Oh - one more quote please! (if I may?)

"I still believe in the resilience of the human heart and the essential validity of love; I still believe that connections between people can be made and the the spirits which inhabit us sometimes touch".

Anyway, I see Kurben is here tonight to help in the discussion.

So I will bow out for now to spend a bit of time with my hubby - tomorrow and Sunday are work days for me but I will try to come back here early in the morning if possible to see how it all turned out!

Take care and have a great evening!

just like that. We ask a question, fall asleep and bingo. But i have never had these clear images, and scary such, of her slipping to a crack and so on.
Maybe that was Brian's subconscious way of coping with her sudden and senseless death. His mind put it in questions and fears he had because of his job - the unknown elements of space and the uncertainty of the afterlife.

Yeah, and it must have been nice to hear that he has been forgiven for that slap that he has been feeling guilty for for so long.
