Maybe that was Brian's subconscious way of coping with her sudden and senseless death. His mind put it in questions and fears he had because of his job - the unknown elements of space and the uncertainty of the afterlife.
I think you are right. I did love this part as well. Especially when she put her hand on the crack to fix it!

damn- thought I could wing it, seen as I read the book years ago. but alas, I cannot find the bloody thing to recap. I do remember the story, and when it came out on VHS I bought the movie- I loved it. so where is chapter four up to ? have they landed and tried to refuel?
Thanks for joining us! The end of chapter four leaves us with Dinah "hearing" something getting closer and Toomy finding the service revolver.

They have just landed and are searching the deserted aitrfield. The fuelingplans are still in the future.

My memory isn't the best at times but it seems to me as most high level businessmen in Kings work are dislikeable if not necessary evil. Craig is both. Do you have the same impression?
I'm racking my brain to think of other businessmen in the SKU - are you thinking of any particular characters? I know that I'm not a fan of Corporate America! ;)
