I'm not against AMC continuing TWD as a TV franchise, I just think TWD as a show should end with Rick's/the entire group's death. I can't imagine the reaction to offing everyone in the end would be good, but it would be closure on that particular show. I guess they could end it with most of the group getting killed but a number of characters surviving and finally finding a true safe haven. That in itself provides a jumping-off point for another show in a few years' time.
After all, FTWD seems to have survived pretty much on its own terms, so there's nothing saying another offshoot or continuation show couldn't. Expecting to get 10 more years out of the main/current iteration of TWD is wishful thinking, though. My final ep will be the one where Rick gets taken out, because that's that story done. After that I'll only watch FTWD, and subsequent spin-offs if there are any.

I think Angela Kang is heading the show in the right direction.

I agree. I've actually enjoyed the first two eps of S9. There's something about it that's more of a return to earlier seasons.
It also helps that the zombies are a threat and main characters are having bad things happen to them again.
What was most interesting for me was the way the whole Maggie & Daryl vs Rick & Michonne BS thing from the end of S8 was essentially ignored. Sure there's tension, but the 2D element has been removed.

Have to say I miss skimom2's take on the episodes, I was pretty m uch in agreement with everything she had to say..I just can't say it as well.. :(

Same. She'd get to things in a sentence that I'd take a paragraph just to approach.

But I see the whole Maggie & Daryl vs. Rick thing wasn't done away with after all, only postponed. Even so, despite this season handling it better and in what seems to be a much more naturalistic way, it jars given the awfully comic-book set-up it was given at the end of S8.
I also thought it was a mistake not to kill those two former Saviors. They'll only stir up more trouble, so Carol and Rick should have quietly done away with them and made sure the bodies would never be found. Give it the old 'Well, those guys were malcontents anyhow, so maybe they just split?' routine.

I don't get Jadis/Anne, though. When she had Negan - clearly an 'A' - strapped down last season, it seemed like she ran and hid from the chopper. Now she's calling the damn thing in. (And as a probable 'A'-type herself, shouldn't she be at least a little bit more dubious about the promised rewards?)
I had to laugh at the (unintentional?) comedy around putting one-eyed Gabriel on watch, then Rick's line to him re: keeping an eye on things, though.

Almost the same her. I read about this Show and my first Thought was "Omg, a Show about Zombies...maybe it lasts one Season"

Started to watch it, because i was bored and i thought "Ok, if it's crap , you have wasted 45 minutes of your Life" and i was soooo
surprised and it gripped me immediately.

Bye Rick

I am with you never read the comics...but became engrossed in the show since Day one. Rick is the TWD is my opinion. I remember watching it on Halloween night and was intrigued.
