Finished Evelation this weekend. (nearly wrote evolution... That could have misinterpreted.....) Started Pax Romana. A book about the roman peace and how encompassing it was and differences in time and place during Romes history as both republic and empire. Compare different opinions through time and place. shows how many views are heavily influenced by the time they are written . How, in this subject views have often shifted fromone extreme to the other with scarcely noone trying to find a middleground. Thats interesting and a true observation for many history books. You need to read at least two for each subject to get an insight in the different viewpoints. I have yet to find if the author manages to find that middleground he's aiming for. But it started well. And at least he is aware of the problemwhich too many historians dont seem to be. (i'm sure they are but they most often pass over the subject lightly in books because it complicates a subject that already is complicated.

Probably some stories are the same.
Interesting. Even though Pet Sematary is my favorite King novel, zombies have never appealed to me much. I mean, simple tales like Night of the Living Dead excited me and maybe the Thriller video as a kid, but not much else. (The Walking Dead is almost allegorical and not that scary). Having said that, I just downloaded a free sample of Zombie by Joyce Carol Oates on my Kindle. It reminds me of the acts Dahmer committed on his victims. Do either of you guys have a zombie story or novel you'd recommend? I'm more interested in the human element (and dilemma) which is probably why I liked Frankenstein as well as Pet Sematary.

Doc, you should give Handling The Undead by John Ajvide Lindqvist a try. It's all about the human element.

World War Z by Max Brooks. A lot of human element and different viewpoints. Inmy mind one of the best Zombie novels ever. Then there are The Girl With All The Gifts by M.J. Carey. Also great. Jonathan Maberrys Rot & Ruin series. Also his Dead of Night, Fall Of Night,
