I have noticed that with a very good story I tend to slow down and savor the words too, even putting my book down and doing something else! I know too the call of my TBR and I really have to tamp down the almost frantic anticipation to get to the next title. Can I take my TBR into the clearing?
Are you kidding Haunted? You can have an entire library full and an eternity to finish them, with a cozy chair and...

Great idea! I hadn't thought of asking for that as a retirement gift. ;-D
Now we all know that you are one of his first and foremost beloved readers. For him to share with you his latest stories always wouldn't that be a wonderful retirement gift? That way when we read a new Mr. King story we would know Miss Marsha read this and we will always be connected by our mutual love!:biglove:

I just picked up "The Brain That Changes Itself" from the library. It's a nonfiction book by Dr. Norman Doidge about how the brain can do remarkable things to recover from injury or disease. Also reading "The Crimes of Paris", which is also nonfiction and about the theft of the Mona Lisa in the first part of the 20th century. And I just nabbed a copy of Cycle of the Werewolf at a secondhand store. I haven't read that yet, so looking forward to introducing myself to it.

The Brass Verdict - Michael Connelly

This is book 2 in the Mickey Haller series and Harry Bosch is a character in this one. I'm almost done and I'm liking this one even better than The Lincoln Lawyer. One aspect of this book that I like is a different perspective on the Harry Bosch character since we only see Bosch through the eyes of Haller.
