That's wild, isn't it? I cannot believe that would get through. How in the heck did that song make it past the censors? Yes, I know it is muffled and yes, I among many never knew what he was saying, but I would think the censors would be all over that wanting to know.
Or maybe the creators just told them what they wanted to hear.
Now, imagine if you will, one of my detective friends strolling down our aisle of cubicles one day singing that litte South Park diddy complete with a little soft shoe shuffle dance and completely oblivious to the nice young lady sitting across from me at my desk filling out a release form to receive some stolen property we had recovered for her...................I'll give you a minute...............the look of total professionalism I kept on my face I think was Oscar worthy and the look of complete horror on his when he turned the corner was even more impressive. It's not like she didn't hear it and we all waited for an OPS investigation that amazingly never happened...I guess she was a South Park fan....Okay... but.

Our supervisor was in a meeting or something when that happened, so I had to fill him in later that day. He was able to keep his eyes from bugging all the way out of his head and his pulse was somewhere around 200 I think by the end of the story.Classic!
You two remind me of some of my kids! Our supervisor was in a meeting or something when that happened, so I had to fill him in later that day. He was able to keep his eyes from bugging all the way out of his head and his pulse was somewhere around 200 I think by the end of the story.
Trav: "I didn't see her sitting as his desk Sarge."
Sarge: "Should that matter? Should a detective from a major municipal police department be walking thru the office singing like a mentally challenged f'ng idiot?????"
Me: "To his credit, it was a pretty good shuffle dance Sarge, very smooth and he was bouncing right along with the lyrics, I'd have given him an 8.5 had I been asked to score it. I'm sure the lady would have scored it as good or higher."
Trav, starting to giggle along with that amazingly annoying grin of his.
Sarge: .......................walks out into the bullpen. "These two morons are f'ng with me, right? This didn't really happen did it?"
Several heads poke up up above the cubicles, general head nodding, poorly hidden smirking and laughing because the whole office had heard it.
Sarge: "BOTH OF YOU, GTF OUT OF MY OFFICE! I'LL BE LUCKY IF I'M NOT BACK ON PATROL BY THIS TIME TOMORROW. I DON'T WANT TO SEE EITHER OF YOU THE REST OF THE DAY WHILE I WAIT ON THE CALL FROM ADMIN ABOUT THE COMPLAINT!" J.F.C. I SWEAR TO GOD BOTH OF YOU MAKE ME WANT TO FIND A NEW CAREER!"
Me: "Where are we supposed to go? It's like 2pm in the middle of the day."
Trav: Laughing hysterically, "We'll go on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine."
Me: Slowly backing out of Sarge's office keeping Trav between me and Sarge's line of fire.
Sarge: Resigned.......Please leave before I'm forced to kill you both, because I will, and I'll go to prison knowing you two f'ng idiots won't be a burden on the next supervisor. Where's my blood pressure pills??
We made ourselves scarce the rest of the day......lol
My son and I love Adventure Time! Also, The Regular Show.
You two remind me of some of my kids!
Our division was known for its antics throughout the PD. The word "zoo" was tossed around quite often, so we had a reputation to uphold...lol
To this day, I still can't get This show out my head and its sheer insanity. The Shaving Yak, Powdered ToastMan and then there's the Royal Mounted Canadian Yaksman song. And who can forget Log by Blammo'
My girl was nine when we started watching AT and she still loves it. She likes The Regular Show more than i do. Before Adventure Time our favorite was flapjack! Such a strange, wonderful program. The many vivid characters include Lolly Poopdeck, who doesn't wear a shirt & constantly carries two buckets for no reason, The Trolley Hag, "Yuh liek nuh fancy wood trim?", and yikes -- Doctor Barber. Possibly the most odd character ever broadcast on a daytime cartoon show. He certainly can get a lot of syllables out of the word, "surgery".
But if you lose you must remain here on Mechanical Genie Island as my butlers for the rest of your lives!"
Every time someone mentions Adventure time I think of this one part my Jim Carey son loves to sing and act it out ...
That is really fantastic, I see why this family is missed so much. Wonderful memories, a great bunch of people to work with.We drove our supervisors to drink sometimes but you'd never find a harder working group of people. I'm not saying that just because I worked there. We all worked together seamlessly when things got serious but everyone just knew everyone else so well you knew how to push everyone's buttons. When my son was born I watched 2 car loads of detectives pull into my driveway less than a week after he was born. I then helped them unload a small fortune in brand new baby clothes, diapers, toys, pretty much anything you can think of for my son. After visiting for a short while they left, Trav shoved an envelope in my hand on his way out out and gave me a congratulatory hug. The envelope contained $250.00 in cash. I was speechless. I was starting 3 months FMLA leave but here these guys were taking time out of their schedules to do all of this. I was overwhelmed.
The original Johnny Quest . After The Flintstones , it was by far the best tv show that Hanna Barbara ever did. The animation, the voice acting the story telling top notch.
....yeah, this is camaraderie at it's ultimate.....That is really fantastic, I see why this family is missed so much. Wonderful memories, a great bunch of people to work with.
My favorite Simpson episode was The Springfield Files In which Mulder and Scully showed up. It had Leonard Nimoy, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson all lending their voices. This still the best send up of the X Files I've ever seen !
And lets not forget all the various incarnations of Treehouse of Horror.
