So I will be in the middle of the ocean next week for a good 7 days, which means I get to do a bit of reading. I just started Stranger in a Strange Land and hope to have it finished or at least most of it finished by the time I board my ship.

Which leads me to the question, what should I read on board?

I've narrowed it down to three contenders...

If it helps, my last cruise I read Needful Things and really loved it. Last year I read Night Shift on the beach and thoroughly enjoyed it.

And I'd enjoy a brief explanation for your choice.

(For fairness, the books are arranged in alphabetical/publishing order)

I'd pick "The Shining" just because I'd enjoy trying to find the similarities in being trapped on a boat at sea & A vacant Hotel. Just pretend the other passengers are ghosts.

Enjoy your cruise, I haven't been on one since 2006. Very high on my "Things to do when your no longer broke" list.
