Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Just got an update... The other cat was found hiding under a bed and they got it out safe. It will take months to repair the home but is livable although smoky smelling. When it rains it pours… Also found out their daughter and her family got into a car accident on their way back home to Philadelphia.

SIL likes to come up in the summer for the pool and some wine. I have to fix one part of the fence this weekend but when she comes up there will be a nice big fenced in area for the dogs to run.

Yesterday the wife was working in one of her flower gardens when she saw a chipmunk fall into the pool. She couldn’t get it out and called the older daughter who retrieved it from the pool all wet and soggy but full of life. Maybe the dang thing should have stuck to eating all my bird seed and left the glass of beer alone. :)

My brother had a two-alarm fire at his home over the weekend. Seems to have been an electrical fire in the laundry room. Only the SIL and one daughter were in the home at the time. SIL couldn’t put out the flames and called 911. She took the two dogs to a neighbor’s house. She couldn’t get the cats out, but an officer saw one on a second story windowsill and rescued it. They believe the other cat got out through a broken window, but I haven’t heard yet of its status. I offered to put anyone up for the time being but he said Red Cross was putting them up in a motel the first night and insurance would take over from there.

Thankful other kitty found. Good thoughts for their daughter and family. Hope no one was hurt.
Doggies will love to run and play.

Last 45 minutes in work, come 4.30 and I'm outta here, been a long busy day, fixing the paintwork on walls ceilings and woodwork, I'm ready for a comfy couch and a large mug of tea.:biggrin2:

You need some Lady Grey!

I went and bought some but I got the kind in the tea bags, not the loose leaf kind

I have no watermelons to show you because the chipmunk in my backyard ate them......but the darn thing is so cute, I just let him.

Now I have to decide which I like better.......
We have about a dozen chipmunks. One has only half a tail left. He must have had a run in with an owl. The other day he strolled into the garage looking for something to eat. About two feet away from me he stopped in his tracks. I yelled at him to get out and said such boldness will cause him to lose the rest of that tail. The chipmunks are also eating the fruit off our squash plants just when they start. I got some Critter Ridder and sprinkled it all around. Doesn't work and I think they view it as some type of crack cocaine.

I'm on hold with the WRHA (Winnipeg Regional Health Authority) re Home Care.

We were told they would be here at the house today "after 10 a.m." so I guess that could mean anytime between now and 6 p.m.?

We're new to this whole thing so not sure what to expect.

Andy celebrated his 65th birthday yesterday and the nurses made him a birthday greeting with rubber gloves that they inflated and wrote:

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y

(They used three gloves)

I guess it's nicer to do that than to say 'bend over' and use those gloves another way!

Want to borrow some of my coons/ the coyote? Guess they would cause more damage. How about a recording of a dog?
