We had a Labor Day picnic over the weekend. Lots of food and drinks and everyone had a grand time… even the party crasher couple. They just stopped and asked if they could join us. After a while in conversation they said knew the wife’s uncle… but everyone in the tri-county region knows the wife’s uncle. But what the heck… the more the merrier. After the party the wife texted her aunt to see if she knew the couple. Never heard back from her. :)

Continuing to watch Dorian do his thing. Give the guy a hand  , he's up to 2 mph forward speed! Seriously, still be watchful all along the eastern seacoast.
So I take it Dorian has fizzled out? Hallelujah :thumbs_up:
Was just reading about this one:

Hurricane Dorian: Florida woman wraps home in plastic to protect from flooding as storm approaches

You'll have to Google it I guess

There's a video but it's not on YouTube

By NO means has Dorian fizzled out. He is still a strong Cat 2 H and off the FL east coast heading somewhat NW after being stationary for over a day. The congrats was for him actually moving again. Many states along the eastern seacoast must continue to watch - tidal surge, ocean waves, winds.

Okay - thanks Spidey - I see now that as of six hours ago CBC has been mentioning that Atlantic Canada could be hit by Dorian - prayers for all the Maritimers that they stay safe

Well....if it didn't bother you then I guess I won't let it bother me. ;)

How you been Dio? :)
Been okay. Injured my wrist and I’m not allowing myself to heal.

People just stopping by to join our picnics doesn’t bother us. I live in the country and we’ve had people just stop by in the past and ask if they could join us. I guess people think us country folk believe in open arms… which I guess is true. Two times that stick in my memory was a motorcycle gang that stopped by and asked if they could join us. We said sure. Funny, but my son-in-law had some of his fellow police officers at the picnic that time. The motorcycle gang and the cops got along great talking about their bikes. Luckily I had two bottles of Jack Daniel’s on hand. Another time four goddesses from Ohio stopped by. They just finished participating in a Spartan Race at the ski resort up the hill and had nothing to do for the rest of the day (they were heading back the following day). They had such a great time with all the food and drinks and singing karaoke. One of them said she had to film it on her phone for proof... as nobody back home would believe the group of professional women just crashed a picnic and turned into a bunch of teenage girls in the process. I sent them off each with a bottle of wine at the end.

TWSS... got it in first! :)

One year at a picnic I set up a zip line at the bottom of the property. Not my smartest idea. After a few drinks people crashing into the trunk of the tree wasn't a pleasant sight. I then tied some cushions around the tree but it only enticed them to crash into it harder. :facepalm_smiley:
