So I got sick of DirecTV and ordered Dish. The tech showed up today. He ran a bunch of tests and declared the only place to get a full signal was near some raspberry bushes which needed cutting anyway. I dropped what I was doing inside (it was too wet to work much outside), went out, and cut almost everything from a huge area in one corner, all either overgrown, dead, or both, enough to fill a bin. He ran more tests and after awhile said the original equipment was faulty and the real signal was in another place nowhere near the raspberry bushes. He felt kind of bad about that. He tried to show me the DVR but the mention of such demonic spawn sends me into a fugue state. I showed him some of my VHS collection. Nowhere near all.

The rest of the day I spent dusting shelves, putting up first all the empty storage boxes and then a huge stack of non-fiction books which were removed while I waited for a guy to come over and reinforce the shelves so they don't collapse and destroy. I also shelved some fiction. I found places for two thirds of the empty photo albums last night but never did get to the others today and need to spend as much as possible remaining time before my surgery in the garden unless it is actually pouring.

I also need to change my internet service but my neighbor came over and said I might get a better deal from the same provider if I didn't go through Dish so now I have to ask.

Well, you can never tell with hounds, they often run-off, but Sometimes They Come Back.
You are so cute! I was thinking of logging off until I read this

(I'm on an ancient laptop which is too slow and is driving me crazy) - must be time to switch to the faster desktop computer)

One of them is the silly drawing studio, and it goes something like this"hello welcome to the drawing studuio, my name is leanodo da vinci, then it goes throguh ther phrases like good job, we should frame that. wow thank you for comming. and then we have coin operated machines for like baby's and it will go always play a pre-recorded song. its really creppy. during my tranning i heard odd noies but we were behind the arcade games..

Friday night Alison and I went to see Craig Johnson read his Christmas Longmire story at the library. This year's story is called Who's Your Daddy and was hilarious! Got a couple books signed after. Mr. Johnson was friendly and gracious as always. Was a great night with my daughter.
