So did you get to see The Thing? (I hope)Stuck in the airport in DC
Gonna be cutting it close to get home and meet my cousin in time for seeing The Thing.
Been going through the house cleaning closets and shelves.
Called the local nursing home asking about the flu and they said they couldn't release health information on patients--that people who are sick either shouldn't come at all, or wear a mask. I said I was not sick, I didn't want to get sick! I went anyway, briefly, to bring in a few items I found in the closet which I thought they might use, and asked about magazines, but they said they just received a big box.
I delivered the bag of plastic grocery bags and the box of clothes to the place collecting for the fundraiser for the county fair. They will arrange a pickup for boxes of magazines on the last day on which they are collecting. I filled two more boxes to go to them and another to fob off on my niece and her husband, making four for the fundraiser and two for my niece.

I'm making a chicken pie for the potluck at work. I won't have time to eat today, so I made it in two separate dishes, and I'm keeping one for myself.....my co workers are like vultures when it comes to homemade food!

I'm still trying to imagine what was happening inside that house of horrors with the poor unfortunate children (the 13 siblings who were abused and neglected).
Just hope that some of them can be rehabilitated and eventually lead normal lives

Going to work, hopefully I will find a book by tabby or a king book I do not have. Also the sweaters and clothing I also whanted but could not buy on Saturday.

Wasn't able to post this at the time but on Saturday we got to inter some of Dad's ashes with his parents here in town. Weather was wet and miserable but it was nice to get him home. I said a few words as the eldest and we said a few prayers.
I had a skating accident. I was on concussion watch for 48 hours. The doctor said I should be ok now.

My trip to DC tomorrow was cancelled due to the Federal Shutdown. I'm glad as it meant I would have had to get up at 3am to catch my 6am flight.
