My parents bought a 55-inch TV a couple of weekends ago. I spent THREE hours at their house explaining how it worked to them. It has wireless, built in Roku, the Ultra HD, all the bells and whistles, wish they'd went with one a bit more simplified. I've been called by dad no less than ten times since I hooked it up for them about how to get back to the home screen or some other minor problem that neither of them have any idea how to handle...lol
LOL I will probably be confused as well. But hubby and son will get me going. Heck I get confused on the one we already have.

Trying to figure out how people quit smoking and stay sane. My fiancee and I both quit on Christmas Day. Neither of us have had any smokes since Christmas Eve. She is feeling better, except for being sick this week, she says she can definitely breath better, and just feels better overall. I, on the other hand, continue to wonder if the feeling that I'm only a few seconds away from running someone down on the sidewalk in order to steal their cigarette is normal. I know it's not but then it seems like it would be a good idea the next second. I am so friggin' edgy these days and it feels like my strings have been tuned three octaves too high, pretty much 24-7. If I see someone smoking, I simultaneously hate them/want to go beg a smoke from them. Having a hard time going to sleep and even harder time sitting still. I'm eating too much because I'm replacing smokes with food, which is exactly what I DON'T want to do. I think my brain is just hard wired to smoke or something. Dammit.
Keep some hot peppers on hand. When you want a smoke, eat one of the peppers instead. I know it sounds crazy, but it is something for your hand and mouth to do, and the heat of the peppers will satisfy the adrenaline rush that the nicotine used to do.

Try hypnosis. Have the hypnotist put into your mind that every time you get the urge to smoke you’ll blurt out I’M A STEELERS FAN!

Ehhh, doesn't matter. Can't go back to smoking, My son and my future step-son don't need to be exposed to it. Daniel NEVER liked it that I smoked. He didn't know me back in the day and never imagined his dad smoking so it always just weirded him out. Just mental fuse that is burnt out I think which turns off the craving.
....I respect your choice and wish you well with the cravings....I should quit, but not ready yet....in the interim, may I suggest vaping old friend?....my kids have cut WAY back on smoking with their various devices.....

I can relate. I am SwiftMom’s tech support. How she manages to do some of the things she does to her PC is beyond me! Makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a fork!

That’s something I have thought of looking into. My problem it’s the ritual of smoking as much as it is the damn smoking itself and the nicotine. I LIKE to smoke if that makes any sense at all....

I’m not at all ready either. My fiancée was quick to tell me this was not something she was looking for me to do with her or because she was quitting. I was free to keep smoking but she’s just done. But, imho, she was never a hard core smoker more of just an occasional one and did it more as a social thing or a break thing. I, on the other hand, smoked since I was 17 around a pack of day, more thru college peaking at around a pack and a half a day give or take until 2003 when I found out I was going to be a Dad, BAM! Quit cold turkey never looked back until 2015 when everything got FUBAR with my ex wife. Right back on them like I never quit and, if I’m being honest, I welcomed it. They always calmed me down and gave me a few minutes of peace. All thru my divorce, the aftermath, the really crappy days afterwards, I could always go out and have a smoke you know? It was lucky that my fiancée smoked when I met her this time and that made my smoking more accepted but now she wants to be all healthy and stuff...lol

I went out and walked to Mayfield, caught the bus, renewed library books, bought a take-away Chinese meal, am on here now( just was looking at the menu for the University of Maine dining place, it looks really nice food there. I don't know if I've ever had Haddock to eat( it's a fish). I've had Chowder, but I don't think it had lobster in it, it was crab meat), tomorrow it is Australia Day( a public holiday). I'll try not to get tempted later on.

My doc had a young attractive PA with him, also. And I don't care what ailment I had... I was not about to drop my drawers. The color of mine was a lovely bull-bodied rosé... one and a half vials of it. At least they numbed it beforehand. Yuck! :barf:
