Many pundits use it when talking about politics. "Why is that senator bemoaning the traditional use of the Electoral College? To me, the whole thing is a nothing burger." That's a bad example, lol. It just means a bloated and fabricated assertion, a step further than a mere exaggeration. There can often be a legitimate point being made but it's usually lost in the histrionics of the accuser. Hope this helps.
